Arcadia Waters Bicton is set in beautifully landscaped grounds with a rich history. The site was originally the private residence of Mr and Mrs Hammersmith, with Hammersmith House being their original home dating back to 1917. The house and land was given to the order of St Joseph’s Nuns and St Joseph’s Hospital was built on the site in 1956.
Hammersmith House was beautifully restored as part of the conversion of the site into a retirement village in 1996. Two years later in 1998 Hammersmith House won an award for the high quality of the restoration work which included the commissioning of a spectacular feature fresco which remains evident even today.

Resort Facilities
The grandeur spaces within Hammersmith House make it a popular meeting place for many of our residents. Attractions inside Hammersmith House include a billiards room, well-stocked library plus a lounge and dining area.
Not far, you’re welcome to start or finish the day off well with a refreshing dip in the indoor pool.
Fontenay Hall hosts yoga classes, hobby groups and other social activities such as casual meals in the undercover BBQ area
There’s also a hair salon so you can enjoy all the style of a salon without leaving home.
The village location is considered by the locals as one of the best. Public transport is close at hand and just around the corner, and within easy walking distance, is the popular Melville Plaza shopping centre along with medical practices, pharmacies and several other convenience stores, restaurants and cafés and take-aways nearby too.
With Canning Highway walking distance from the village, it makes it quick and easy to reach Fremantle (7km) and the Perth CBD (16km) by car or bus.
