We like the facilities, friendships and security we’ve got here at Arcadia Waters. You can socialise or be as independent as you like. As a retired farmer, I also particularly enjoy keeping myself busy with a bit of woodwork in the workshop. Our advice to anyone is to move early enough to enjoy it all.

It was my two sons and my daughter that discovered Arcadia Waters. They had all emigrated here from Britain but I was still there and they wanted me to join them here in Perth. They told me all about Arcadia Waters, it sounded fantastic so I decided to make the move.

I put my house in England on the market and they organised the purchase of my new home in the village. So as soon as I sold my old home, I was on a plane and came straight here.

I was amazed, I just didn’t believe a retirement village could be so nice and the people so helpful and friendly. I am right at home here, it’s perfect. The managers are wonderful too and I am pleased that my family know I am safe and don’t have to worry about me. They often drop by and even stay over some nights.

Like a lot of other people here, we were finding our big half acre block in Greenmount was getting too much for us. All our friends said we were far too young to move to a retirement village and John wasn’t all that keen either.

But that all changed once we made the move. John loves it and once our friends saw the place and all the fun we were having they soon changed their tune and could see why we came here.

We knew from the very first day when we had a coffee in the clubhouse and met all these nice people that Arcadia Waters was right for us. We really feel at home here and it is so much better than anything else we looked at.

Looking to downsize to more manageable homes, brothers Owen and Phil Shepherd and their wives Irene and Dorothy chose to live life the Arcadia way.

It's a great way of life, the Clubhouse has every facility you could want, there’s good security for peace of mind and of course, great neighbours!

To say I like living here at Arcadia Waters is an understatement. It is fantastic! I had a large block of 1½ acres in Canning Vale, which was hard work without my husband to help me. He had passed away 4 months previously. I had friends already living at Arcadia Waters so I knew what it was like, but my family insisted that I look at other villages before making a final decision.

I've been here for two years now and have made a lot of friends through bowls, boot scooting and other social events. I've even had first hand experience of the excellent emergency call system. One day I wasn’t feeling well, so I pressed the button on my phone and was answered immediately. They knew who I was and where I was and the ambulance was here in a flash and I was whisked off to hospital. It turned out that I had pneumonia. They even informed management who contacted my family.
